On Saturday 1 April 2023, Daniela Cotimbo presented Re:humanism at the MULTIMEDIA/ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LABORATORY, a project of Ecosistemi Artificiali in collaboration with the Performing Arts Research Centre of Florence and Libera Accademia di Belle Arti of Florence.
In dialogue with the students of Libera Accademia di Belle Arti Florence, Daniela Cotimbo spoke about the potential and criticality of Artificial Intelligence in the artistic field.
The richness of this conversation stems from Daniela’s commitment to questioning, through the work of the artists she personally curates, the plurality of implications of technology and its relationship with the individual and society. The ethical questions on the regulation of Artificial Intelligence, the artistic overproduction linked to an often stylistic use of these tools, the non-neutrality of technology in the redefinition of the human being are just some of the topics we will discuss.
Questioning these issues through art allows us to touch on specific areas such as the political, social, and philosophical spheres, restoring critical issues that would otherwise be too complex in a poetic key, thus providing tools for accessibility to topics that are retracting our way of communicating, desiring, and organising ourselves.
